Buddha-Bar New York is a visually dramatic hospitality venue featuring layered architectural details, sculptural décor, and intentionally low ambient lighting that creates a rich, lounge-style atmosphere. Photographing the interior required highlighting the scale, textures, and design elements while preserving the venue’s distinctive mood and guest experience.

Lighting & Photography Approach

Because the space was extremely dark, the interior photography relied on long-exposure capture and carefully blended HDR techniques to balance deep shadows with bright accent lighting without overexposing highlights. This approach preserved the authentic ambiance while producing clean, balanced architectural images. The final photographs were later published in Architectural Digest, recognizing the project’s successful visual documentation of the space.
